An old hotel but very nice & accommodating.Even better now it is dog friendly.
Staff all very good especially the breakfast staff where the service was excellent. The breakfast itself was above average, but sadly let down when I asked for poached eggs as when they arrived they were very small with pale yolks suggesting that they were low quality eggs. The shower room was newly refurbished, looked great and very functional. The bed was a let down as I could feel springs from the mattress. Had to sleep on the duvet and fold it in half to use as a cover also. Bedroom decor dated but fine. Bedside light needs repairing.For the cost of memory foam mattresses and good free range eggs these days, these are to simple inexpensive changes that would have made my stay everything that would expect for a Holiday Inn.
Great food and friendly service in a traditional setting. Rooms were ok. Nice size but old, i.e. no plugs near the bed! However, a new modern shower had been retrofitted into the bathroom.
Good location. Free parking. Access to the David Lloyd swimming pool which is really good and just across the road. The rooms were nice. The staff were all helpful and friendly and seemed to like children. The flooring throughout seemed a little dated and in some needs replacing. There is a bar on site. They offer breakfast for an extra contribution. Didn't hear the neighbours. Offered cot bed.
Friendly staff and excellent service nothing is to much trouble. Breakfast is an excellent buffet with all you need and beautifully presented. The chef considers it his pride and joy and rightly.
