The weekend I visited happened to be the last of the snowy episodes which punctuated March this year. It looked beautiful and intriguing in the shroud of snow. I love the little wooden bridges over the streams but my attention was caught by the amount of coppicing which has been done by the Parcare volunteers. A lot of skilful work had gone into the process. What I particularly noticed was that the branches cut down were very cleverly used to make thick fencing, to form a kind of paddock. I found this work fascinating and yet beautifully simple. I would love to volunteer to do some work here when the next working party is organised. Unfortunately, I live two and a half hours away. This is a great place to come and I shall look forward to my next visit to see it in the Spring.
