It's the waterfront, students hang about here as Suffolk University campus is based on the waterfront, along with some fairly sterile and superficial bars and restaurants, including a pizza chain. The historic custom house is a welcome break from glass and steel frontages and the marina adds interest with views across to the less than picturesque docks across the water. As a hub it's passing fair, parking is quite restricted and set aside around 30 mins to explore fully with time to spare.
Lovely area in the summer. Lively Issacs, great Noodle Bar next to Salt House Hotel. Good selection of bistros and chain eateries. Further along you have Athena bar which again is lovely in summer to sit on a couch outside with a cocktail.
