Love the animal exhibits here, as does my little one. It's interesting to see how big animals are in real life. Not yet made it around the whole place but we enjoyed what we've seen. Great place to pop into especially since it's free.

Amazing find. Very friendly staff and surprising amount of interesting exhibits. Not massive, but nicely compact. Kept 6 year old son amused for a long time.

I visited Ipswich museum on 06/12/18, I have to admit I was very pleasantly surprised at how good the museum is, especially as it is all FREE! From the outside it doesn't look like there will be much to see inside, but we took 3 hours to go round the exhibits and to be honest I could have spent longer. The animals are bird exhibits are superb, especially a full size woolly mammoth. The local history section was great too as well as all the other parts of the museum. Nice little shop too, it would only be bettered if there was a cafe, or at least a tea and coffee machine.

Five stars, but.... Low light in some exhibitions is a easy fix... but what bugs me most is the lack of linear order, as in, there is no chronological order through the exhibition, all the areas are very good, most are excellent, but the museum could gain from connecting the various section with a historical time-line or at least divided into nature and history.I love the Museum, have visited many times, will visit again and do recommend. This is just my attempt at constructive criticism.

Great old fashioned style museum. Hundreds of stuffed animals, fossils, models etc. Lots of information and things for children to do. Nice little shop. Toilets available and a soft drink vending machine.
